Sarfaraz Ahmed delivered an outstanding performance in the second Test against New Zealand on Wednesday in Karachi (Day 3). The right-hander hit 78 off 109 balls, with 10 boundaries. The former Pakistan captain also shared a 150-run fifth-wicket stand with centurion Saud Shakeel. Pakistan was rescued from 182/4 with their partnership.
Pakistani fans, on the other hand, were dissatisfied with Sarfaraz Ahmed’s manner of dismissal. The majority of them thought Sarfaraz’s feet were planted on the ground when the TV umpire called him stumped. The incident occurred during Daryl Mitchell’s 100th over when Tom Blundell attempted a successful stumping behind the stumps.

Ahsan Raza, this isn't done, bro! How can you take two hours to decide and not give the benefit of the doubt to the batter? Sarfaraz Ahmed was clearly not amused.(Gif courtesy: @grassrootscric

In the meantime, Sarfaraz Ahmed has maintained his purple streak since making his Test comeback against New Zealand. In the first Test, which ended in a tie, he scored 86 and 53. He helped Pakistan fight back in the second Test with a crucial 78-run knock.
Earlier, New Zealand scored 449 runs in the first innings, led by Devon Conway’s century (122). Half-centuries were scored by Tom Latham (71), Daryl Mitchell (51) and Matt Henry (68). It’s worth noting that Henry and Ajaz Patel (35) put on a 104-run partnership for the 10th wicket which helped them get to a great total. With figures of 4/149, Pakistan’s best bowler was Abrar Ahmed. Naseem Shah and Agha Salman each took three wickets.
At the time of writing this article, the team led by Babar Azam scored 373/5 in 122 overs. They trail New Zealand’s score by 76 runs. Agha Salman, batting at 29 runs in 69 balls, and Saud Shakeel, batting at 111 in 307 balls, are in the middle.
Babar Azam and company will try to extend their lead by at least 100 runs in the second innings to put the visitors under pressure. Pakistan will try to avoid losing consecutive Test series at home after losing to Australia (1-0) and being whitewashed by England (3-0).
