Watch- Real Madrid reveal futuristic Robot-wall to take their free kick routine to the next level
These bots could be programmed to jump as high or even more than actual players so that players could practice their free kicks.
Football is a highly tactical game. It requires hours of set pieces and tactical practice in the training ground to get an edge over the opposition. The free kick routine is one such practice that all football teams go through to score from outside of the box.
In the past, teams deployed players from their own team to jump in front of the goalpost in order to simulate blocking by the opposition defenders. This, however, is very tasking for the players and often leaves them tired before other individual training take place.
Looks like Real Madrid, the Spanish giants, have found a solution to save players’ energy while simulating free-kick defence. In a recent video doing the rounds of the Internet, Real Madrid has showcased robots to jump and create match scenarios for a free kick.
These bots could be programmed to jump as high or even more than actual players so that players could practice their free kicks. Watch the below video to see these bots in action.
