India and Bangladesh are locking horns in the first ODI of the three-match series at Dhaka. Bangladesh captain Litton Das won the toss and elected to bowl first. Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan walked out to the middle to give a blazing start to the team. However, the duo couldn’t continue for long as Shikhar Dhawan got bowled by Mehidy Hasan as India lost their first wicket on 23 after 5.1 overs.
The fans were expecting a good show from the star batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma but all their hopes were shattered by veteran all-rounder Shakib-al-Hasan who got the prized scalps of both batters in his very first over. Shakib was brought on in the 11th over of the innings and cleaned up the Indian captain on the second ball of the over as he bowled him right through his defence.
On the fourth ball of the same over, Shakib got the priceless scalp of Virat Kohli who mistimed a cover drive to Litton Das at short cover. Das completed a sensational catch diving to his full length as the ball stuck in his right hand. Kohli stood in disbelief looking at the incredible fielding effort. Shakib’s over put India under tremendous pressure at 49/3 after 11 overs.
