Watch: Kieron Pollard takes takes a one-handed blinder in International League T20
Desert Vipers won the match by seven wickets.
The International League T20 has been an exhilarating affair so far as fans have got to see some thrilling cricketing action. The Match no 15 between Desert Vipers and MI Emirates didn’t disappoint either as two heavy-weight giants collided with each other. Amid the riveting cricketing action during the game, a breathtaking catch by Kieron Pollard made the headlines.
The incident took place on the second ball of the eighth over bowled by Samit Patel. Patel bowled a full toss delivery which Colin Munro smacked towards long on. Kieron Pollard who was stationed at long-on came too far forward to take the catch. With the ball going over his head, Pollard jumped with his one hand in the air and completed a spectacular each.
What made the catch even more spectacular was Pollard’s celebration after taking it. He calmly sat on the field with one hand on his chin to convey that he’s used to taking such catches every day.

Coming back to the match, Desert Vipers Captain Colin Munro won the toss and opted to bowl first. MI Emirates openers Muhammad Wasim and Vriitya Aravind walked out to the middle to give a blazing start to their side. However, both returned back to the pavilion within the first three overs with just ten runs on the board.

They further lost Andre Fletcher on the score of 53 after 8.2 overs after which Nicholas Pooran and Kieron Pollard got together at the crease. They added 116 runs together in just 69 balls to take their team to 169/5 after their allotted 20 overs. Pooran scored 57 off 49 while captain Pollard remained unbeaten on 67 off 39 balls. Tom Curran was the pick of the bowlers who picked up 2/38 in four overs.
In reply, Desert Vipers chased down the target in 16.3 overs as Alex Hales and Sherfane Rutherford scored half-centuries. Hales remained unbeaten on 62 off 44 balls while Rutherford remained unbeaten on 56 off 29 balls. Colin Munro also scored a magnificent 41 off 22 balls which helped them win the match by seven wickets. Samit Patel was the pick of the bowlers who picked 2/23 in two overs. Sherfane Rutherford was awarded ‘Player of the Match’ for his quick-fire half-century.
