After a successful series win against Australia, star India batter and skipper Rohit Sharma is set to make a comeback in the squad. In his absence, KL Rahul led India to beat Australia in two back-to-back games to win the series. However, Rohit, along with Virat Kohli, and Kuldeep Yadav, had been rested to stay fit and fresh for the upcoming ODI World Cup.

On Tuesday, India held a practice session in Rajkot, which turned awkward for former India spinner Amit Mishra. Amit, who currently works as a commentator for Jio Cinema, joined Indian skipper Rohit Sharma for a brief chat during his practice session. Rohit’s hilarious nature left Amit in shock as the Indian skipper questioned his commitment on the field. The video of their awkward yet hilarious talk went viral on social media.

Here is the video:

In the viral video, Rohit can be heard asking Amit about his eyes. The conversation went like this: Rohit said, “Aakh kyun laal hai aapka? (Why are your eyes so red?”. Amit came up with the excuse that he hadn’t slept properly, but this proved to be his biggest mistake. As Rohit replied, “Kya commitment hai. Itna commitment toh aapka udhar bhi nahi tha (You didn’t have this much commitment on the field!). Rohit further told Mishra that the spinner never played under him, to which Mishra hilariously replied, “Tune kabhi bulaaya hi nahi (You never called me!).

India is set to make a lot of changes against Australia

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, India skipper Rohit Sharma revealed that around five players were not available for selection during the 3rd ODI. This means India is set to make a wholesale change in the playing XI. According to Rohit, “India has a lot of players who are sick and not available; a lot of players have personal problems, so they have gone home, and a few of the guys have been rested as well. We have got 13 players at this point in time.”

It is worth noting that India has rested young batter Shubman Gill from the final game. All-rounder Axar Patel is also not available due to injury. Ruturaj Gaikwad has gone to China for the Asian Games 2022. Meanwhile, all-rounders Hardik Pandya, Shardul Thakur, and Mohammad Shami have opted out and gone to their respective homes. “Obviously, Gill has been rested, and Shami, Hardik, and Shardul have all gone home… again, for personal things. Axar, obviously, is not available for this game,” Rohit said.
