WATCH: Harry Brook scores 24 runs in final over to hunt down West Indies’ total during 3rd T20I

Jos Buttler seemed to be the happier captain after his side’s comeback into the T20I series.

Harry Brook and Phil Salt

When England faced the West Indies on Saturday, batter Harry Brook gave one of the most spectacular endings in T20Is history. When England needed to prevail in the second Twenty20 International by scoring 21 runs off of the last six deliveries, Brook showed up and won the match, levelling the series at one.

Just in time for the forthcoming Indian Premier League auction, Brook hammered the deliveries throughout the park versus Andre Russell, a bowler who barely offers an inch to anyone in death overs.

With a flick of his wrist, Brook gently guided Russell’s attempted yorker to begin with, setting a boundary close to the fine leg region. After that, Brook hit a six beyond the covers to give himself and England more confidence after scoring 10 runs off of just two balls.

There were just five runs required from the final three balls of the match. Russell gave Brook a full delivery on his legs, causing the England batsman to sweep the ball past the fine leg fence for a six. This time, Brook attempted to hit the short-pitched delivery for a boundary, but instead he was given a double.

After Russell’s wide delivery was hit for a six beyond the third man boundary, Brook completed an incredible comeback to seal the game for his team.

“The role with Jos was crucial” : Phil Salt

The skipper Jos Buttler was particularly happy with his team’s performance in this do-or-die game. He said, “Great to keep the series alive. Hats off to Salt. Last game we talked about staying till the end. Credit to Salt. We tried a lot with the ball.”

The player of the match, Phil Salt spoke to the broadcasters after the match. He spoke about the mindset while he was batting and chasing down the big total. He said, “Feels like it has been long time coming. We have been talking about being a match-winner in the group. We tried to get it down 60-70 in the last 5 overs. There is a way to do it. Played it my way. The role with Jos was crucial. He is one of the best in the world.”
