While the World Cup 2023 is happening in India, the Women’s Big Bash League matches are taking place in Australia. In the fifth match of the tournament, the Brisbane Heat women locked horns with the Perth Scorchers women. While batting first, Brisbane managed to score 229 runs, losing seven wickets in 20 overs. Grace Harris, the opening batter for Brisbane, played an outstanding inning.
She made an unbeaten 136 runs in just 59 balls, hitting 11 sixes and 12 fours. In her innings, Grace hit 11 sixes and 12 fours. That means he scored 114 runs in 23 balls from the boundary itself. However, a video describing her six-hit abilities is going viral on social media. The video is from the 14th over of the game when Harris can be heard saying that she can hit six with a broken bat.
On the very next ball, Harris hit a full-length delivery over mid-wicket for a six. While doing that, she broke her bat in two parts and left everyone in shock. Her commitment and powerful hitting astonished not only the fans but also the commentators and non-strikers. Before the bat broke, she managed to hit nearly half a dozen sixes with it.

Grace Harris rewrites the history in WBBL
It’s worth noting that Harris set several records during the game. Her unbeaten 136 runs became the highest individual score in the history of the Women’s Big Bash League, surpassing Ashley Gardner’s 114. Moreover, her brilliant batting performance helped the Brisbane Heat Women achieve a massive total of 229/7 in 20 overs, the second-highest team total in the tournament’s history.
Despite an impressive half-century from wicketkeeper-batter Beth Mooney, scoring 60 runs off just 30 balls with six fours and four sixes, the Perth Scorchers couldn’t secure a win, ultimately losing the game by 50 runs. The excellent bowling performance from pacer Courtney Sippel played a significant role in pushing the Perth Scorchers out of the game.
