Watch: Faf du Plessis reunites with former teammates ahead of Bangalore vs Chennai clash
Chennai and Bangalore will face each other at the D.Y Patil Stadium on April 12
Faf du Plessis will be up against his old mates when Chennai take on Bangalore. From 2011 to 2021, Du Plessis played for Chennai and was part of their title wins in seasons 2011, 2018, and 2021. Notably, he played for now-defunct Pune when the Yellow Brigade was suspended for two seasons in 2016 and 2017.
Meanwhile, after being released by the four-time winners last November, the former South Africa skipper was signed by Bangalore during the player auction in February this year. Ahead of the ongoing season of the cash-rich league, the 37-year-old was appointed as the skipper of Bangalore. Under his leadership, the team has won three out of four games so far.
On the other hand, his former team has lost four out of as many games in the season so far. Meanwhile, ahead of the Bangalore vs Chennai clash on April 12, the Pretoria-born was seen having fun with his former teammates. In a video shared by Chennai, Faf united with his Chennai mates.
On the other hand, former skipper Virat Kohli was seen having fun with current and former Chennai skippers, Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni respectively.

Meanwhile, Chennai have had a horrible start to their campaign. They lost to Kolkata, Punjab, and Hyderabad by a fair margin while lost to Lucknow after being in a winning situation at one stage. On the other hand, the three-time finalists have come back strongly after losing to Punjab in their opening game. They won by close margins against Kolkata and Rajasthan in their next two games.
They then beat Mumbai by a seven wickets. The Ravindra Jadeja-led side would like to register their first win and keep their hopes alive for the Indian T20 League playoffs.
