Faf du Plessis will be up against his old mates when Chennai take on Bangalore. From 2011 to 2021, Du Plessis played for Chennai and was part of their title wins in seasons 2011, 2018, and 2021. Notably, he played for now-defunct Pune when the Yellow Brigade was suspended for two seasons in 2016 and 2017.
Meanwhile, after being released by the four-time winners last November, the former South Africa skipper was signed by Bangalore during the player auction in February this year. Meanwhile, Chennai have had a horrible start to their campaign. They lost to Kolkata, Punjab, and Hyderabad by a fair margin while lost to Lucknow after being in a winning situation at one stage.
