Skipper Du Plessis and former captain Virat Kohli provided a great start to their team. They put together 96 runs with Kohli scoring 61 off 44 balls including four sixes and as many fours.
On the other hand, the former Proteas skipper played a run-a-ball for the 30-odd balls. However, a few overs after Kohli’s wicket, the Pretoria-born player started playing his shots and stitched a partnership of 119 runs with Glenn Maxwell. The latter scored 59 off 29 balls including three fours and six sixes. On the other hand, the Protean scored an unbeaten 79 runs including five sixes and as many fours.
One of his sixes went over 115 meters. The incident happened in the 15th over of the RCB innings. After hitting the first six of the over on the off-side, the next six went over long-on and 115 meters away.

Talking about the game, the Royal Challengers amassed 212/2 at the end of the innings. In reply, the Super Giants lost the wicket of in-form Kyle Myers early. Reece Topley’s replacement Wayne Parnell made an immediate impact as he took two wickets in the fourth over of the innings. Marcus Stoinis (65) provided some momentum but got it at the time of writing. At the time, the team has lost five wickets for 106 runs, needing 107 runs in 53 balls.
