WATCH: Broadcasters focus on Jos Buttler immediately after Ravichandran Ashwin attempts non-striker run-out
Jos Buttler was run out by Ravichandran Ashwin in the IPL 2019 when the latter played for Kings XI Punjab (Now Punjab Kings).
England and Rajasthan Royals batter, Jos Buttler was in focus not because of his batting during the game against Punjab Kings. After deciding to bowl first, the 2008 winners were getting bludgeoned by PrabhSimran Singh with skipper Shikhar Dhawan playing the anchor role. The former scored 45 off 23 balls while Dhawan got 14 off 13 balls till the end of the powerplay.
In the seventh over of the innings, Ravichandran Ashwin came into bowl. On the fourth ball of the over, Dhawan was backing up at the non-striking end. In reply, Ashwin decided to abort his bowling and let Dhawan know the consequences of backing up too far non-verbally. Immediately after the incident, the broadcaster of the Indian Premier League (IPL) focused on Buttler who was fielding at the boundary line.

Talking about the game, the Kings amassed 197/4. Opening batters, PrabhSimran Singh and Shikhar Dhawan laid a great with respective half-centuries. However, the middle-order failure except for Jitesh Sharma (27) led the team to be restricted to under 200. In reply, the Royals had a poor start and struggled at 124/6 in 15 overs. Apart from skipper Sanju Samson (42), no one from the to-order and middle-order applied themselves well.
In the end, the likes of Shimron Hetmyer and Dhruv Jurel took the game but the team lost by five runs in the end

Meanwhile, in the 2019 IPL, Buttler was run out by Ashwin when the latter was leading the Red Army, Kings. In that game, the 2008 winners were going nicely when the India player decided to run out Buttler, who was advancing. The incident was the turning point for the team as they lost the game in the end. At the time, this incident became a huge roar in world cricket.
