In the meantime, Bangladesh Test captain Shakib Al Hasan is making headlines for an unusual incident that occurred during a BPL game. When a high-bouncing ball was not ruled wide, Shakib, who was batting for Fortune Barishal, became agitated. The umpire ruled it a valid delivery and counted it as one bouncer for the over.
Shakib was seen yelling at the umpire almost as soon as the ball passed the square leg umpire. He then argued angrily with the umpire about the decision, almost charging at him. The 35-year-old then walked over to the bowler’s end umpire and spoke briefly with him before returning to his crease.
Shakib had also slammed his country’s cricket governing body for failing to promote the Bangladesh Premier League. “If they made me the BPL CEO, it would take me one or two months to correct everything. You have seen the movie, Nayak, right? If you want to do something, you can do it in one day,” Shakib told reporters.
