WATCH: Babar Azam and Sarfaraz Ahmed found in Qawwali night

Babar Azam, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and many other Pakistan cricketers were found on Qawwali night. In a viral video on social media, the cricketers from Pakistan were seen enjoying their time away from cricket by participating in the event. Notably, Babar was seen using his smartphone, while Sarfaraz was singing the songs with full involvement in them.

In addition, as the singers were on the stage singing the song, Ahmed made an effort to sing the song himself. Notably, the 2017 Champions Trophy-winning captain sang the song named ‘Mera piya ghar aaya’ along with the singers, providing the chorus. However, it seemed as if the Pakistan cricketers needed some sort of break after a tiring World Cup season and the away tour of Australia ahead of them.

In addition, not many things have gone right for Pakistan in the last few weeks. Notably, the Asian side could not enter the final of the Asia Cup 2023 and lost to India by a huge margin. More importantly, they lost Naseem Shah to an injury, which changed the dynamics of their bowling. In the ODI World Cup 2023, Pakistan lost five games out of nine.

However, the former world champions lost four matches in a row against the likes of India, Australia, Afghanistan, and South Africa. It hampered their chances of making it to the knockout stage of the tournament. Eventually, they could not qualify. Notably, Babar was criticized for his captaincy in the tournament, which forced him to resign from his leadership. It led to a change in captaincy.

However, Inzamam-ul-Haq had to step down from being the chief selector of the team midway through the tournament, as he had stakes in another organization alongside Babar, Shaheen, Mohammad Rizwan, etc. Shaheen Afridi and Shan Masood are selected as the new captains of Pakistan in T20Is and Tests, respectively. Apart from that, an entirely new selection committee is appointed, which is to be headed by Wahab Riaz. In addition, Pakistan has also selected Mohammad Hafeez as the new head coach and director of cricket operations. Meanwhile, Pakistan will be touring Australia for a tough summer in December.
