Rajasthan and Mumbai were facing off in the 44th match of the Indian T20 League 2022. Rajasthan batted first in the match and posted a total of 158 runs on the board from their 20 overs. Mumbai’s start to the chase was led by Ishan Kishan who was looking to take the attack on the bowlers. Rohit Sharma at the other end was playing watchfully trying to spend some time in the crease as he has been short of runs lately.

However, in the third ball of the third over he tried to sweep the off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin over the deep square leg. He failed to time the ball properly and top-edged the ball giving an easy catch to Daryl Mitchell. His 35th birthday did not go as he might have planned as he was able to score only two runs.

Walking back to the pavilion the Mumbai skipper looked visibly disappointed. His wife Ritika Sajdeh, who was watching the game was also disappointed. But what warmed the hearts of the viewers was a video of Ashwin’s wife, Prithi walking up to Ritika and hugging her. The clip went viral soon and the fans were happy to see the warmth of the relationship on display.

Speaking of the match, Mumbai won the match by five wickets. Suryakumar Yadav the middle-order batter for Mumbai played a brilliant knock of 51 runs off 39 deliveries and played a major role in Mumbai’s chase. However, a brittle effort from the lower middle order gave them a scare, Daniel Sams ensured that there are no further slip-ups and took Mumbai home.

Earlier in the match, Jos Buttler’s love affair with the Mumbai bowling continued as he scored 67 runs off 52 deliveries. On the back of his brilliant show and a short cameo played by Ravi Ashwin (21 of 9), Rajasthan reached a total of 158 runs in their 20 overs.
