Alejandro Garnacho, the star for Manchester United, said that he was taken aback by his incredible bicycle kick goal during his team’s 3-0 victory against Everton on Sunday, November 26.
In the Premier League, the Red Devils and Toffees faced off at Goodison Park. Within the opening three minutes of the match, Garnacho opened the scoring. The Argentinian winger produced an incredible overhead kick goal after backpedalling to link up with Diogo Dalot’s ball inside the box.
Anthony Martial was fouled in the area by Ashley Young, an Everton defender, and Erik ten Hag’s team was given a penalty during the second half. In the 56th minute, Marcus Rashford took his penalty kick and banged the ball towards the upper left corner. Martial then capitalised on a ball from Bruno Fernandes to get his name on the scoreboard. During the 75th minute, he scored, giving Manchester United the full three points.
Garnacho’s goal was an incredible sight that took everyone by unexpectedly including the Argentine, as he stated following the game. He said, “I couldn’t believe I scored it to be honest, I didn’t see how I scored I just listened to the crowd and said ‘Oh my god!’. But yea, for me, one of the best goals I’ve scored, I’m very happy.”
The Manchester United academy graduate was then told that may be the season’s biggest goal, to which he responded. The winger replied, “Yeah, probably yeah. But it’s still November”
