In the ongoing Road Safety World Series, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar is currently in charge of the India Legends. Rain forced the cancellation of the match on Monday between India Legends and New Zealand Legends at Indore’s Holkar Stadium, but not before the batting mastery entertained the crowd with some breathtaking shots.
Tendulkar did not appear to be retired in November 2013 as he produced these shots. The right-handed batter played some of his signature shots, including the scoop and backfoot punch. The best of the bunch, though, was the backfoot punch he delivered on the fifth ball of Kyle Mills’ first over. A back-of-the-length delivery was bowled, and Tendulkar only needed to move back slightly in his crease to play an almost flawless backfoot punch, which caused the ball to sprint to the boundary.

Only 5.5 overs were bowled in the game, during which India Legends scored 49/1. The rain ended the game when Tendulkar and Raina were each batting on 19 and 9, respectively. Earlier, in the fourth over of the innings, Shane Bond sent Naman Ojha back to the pavilion. After scoring 18, the right-handed batter had to depart.
With four points from three games, India Legends are currently in third place in the standings. The team led by Sachin Tendulkar won their first game, but the next two were called off due to inclement weather. With six points, Sri Lanka Legends are in the first place, followed by West Indies Legends in second place.
India Legends will play their next match against England Legends on the 22nd of September at a different venue, Dehradun. The England team has yet to record a victory in the competition. They lost their games against Sri Lanka Legends and West Indies Legends. On the other hand, their match against South Africa Legends was abandoned without a ball being bowled. They will now look to register their first win of the season.
