Former India skipper Virat Kohli and Afghanistan international Naveen-Ul-Haq had an ugly altercation during the LSG v RCG game. At the end of the 16th over after the Siraj vs Naveen clash. It all started after the former flicked the bails despite Naveen being inside the crease. Virat intervened in the fight and it increased which is why the umpires had to intervene.

However, this didn’t end there. After the game ended with the Royal Challengers’ win, the altercation between both players continued with the Afghanistan pacer not ready to talk to Kohli. On the other hand, Gautam Gambhir also intervened with both Kohli and Gambhir having a heated debate too. Meanwhile, Naveen has uploaded an Instagram story that has angered the fans.

Meanwhile, the match referee has taken note of this ugly and not fit-for-family viewing incident. They have decided to fine the former RCB skipper 100 percent of his match fees. On the other hand, the LSG player has been fined 50 percent of his match fees

“Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Virat Kohli has been fined 100 per cent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Lucknow Super Giants at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

“Mr Kohli admitted to the Level 2 offence under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct.

“Lucknow Super Giants’ Bowler Naveen-ul-Haq has been fined 50 per cent of his match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

“Mr Naveen-ul-Haq admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct,” reads the statement issued by IPL on their official website.
