‘Virat Kohli will score more than 600 runs this season’ – ABD predicts a stellar season for Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli has entered another season of the Indian T20 League for Bangalore with an aim to get big runs before returning to international cricket. In the last two series against the West Indies and Sri Lanka, he could only score one half-century. Notably, he was rested for the T20I series against Sri Lanka and had a poor time with the bat in the ODIs against the West Indies.

In the first game of the tournament against Punjab, the right-hander scored 41 runs, which could be considered a decent start. Meanwhile, Kohli’s former Bangalore teammate and former South Africa skipper AB de Villers has predicted the number of runs the 33-year-old will score this season. De Villers is expecting Kohli to score around 600 runs in the ITL. “I am expecting a very good season from Virat Kohli, around 600 runs from Virat Kohli in ITL,” former South Africa skipper said on VUsport official.

The statement of De Villers was shared alongside the image of Kohli by CricTracker on their Twitter account. The image was captioned “How many runs will Virat Kohli score in ITL 2022?”. The Pretoria-born player replied to the Tweet and said verified his prediction saying 600+

Talking about AB, he retired from the game last year, citing a lack of hunger for the game. Meanwhile, in a recent conversation with comedian Danish Sait, Kohli  said that he will miss the Protean if the Men In Red and Black manage to win the tournament this year. The team has played three finals (2009, 2011, and 2016) and two playoffs in 2009 and 2015 but never won the title. This year, the team has entered the cash-rich league with a goal of lifting the title. However, they had a poor start as they lost to Punjab Kings by five wickets, failing to defend 205.
