Former India skippers, Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir were in the center stage of what was an ugly verbal spat. After the LSG v RCB game in the ongoing IPL 2023, both players fought fiercely albeit with words. It all started with a verbal battle between Naveen-ul-Haq and Mohammed Siraj in the 16th over of the second innings. In that over, the latter bowled two bouncers to Naveen.

However, this didn’t end there as Kohli intervened. After the Red Army won the game by 18 runs. Things got heated ahead of the post-match presentations. Apparently, it is recently reported that Gambhir wasn’t happy with Kohli having a go at his players. In recent times. both players have been equally criticized and have been fined heavily.

Days after this incident, Kohli reportedly wrote to Indian Cricket Board officials about the incident. He has claimed his innocence in the entire incident. Notably, his fine will be paid by the RCB after the season.

“Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Virat Kohli has been fined 100 per cent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Lucknow Super Giants at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

“Mr Kohli admitted to the Level 2 offence under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct.

“Lucknow Super Giants’ Mentor Gautam Gambhir has been fined 100 per cent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

“Mr Gambhir admitted to the Level 2 offence under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct.

“Lucknow Super Giants’ Bowler Naveen-ul-Haq has been fined 50 per cent of his match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

“Mr Naveen-ul-Haq admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct,” reads the statement issued by IPL on their official website.
