In Google’s 25-year history, ace batsman Virat Kohli of Team India is now the most googled cricket player. Via a unique video posted on its social media account, the massive search engine verified the same.
Being one of the greatest batters in cricket history, Kohli, 35, is highly respected. On the list of all-time top run scorers in international cricket, he is ranked fourth. The former Team India skipper has accumulated 26,532 runs with an average of 54.36 including 80 hundreds as well as 138 half-centuries in 518 games across all forms.
Google released a movie on Monday evening, December 11, which included an extensive compilation of the most sought-after subjects during its 25-year existence. Subjects covered included sports, entertainment, politics, and viral trends, among other genres.
Although Kohli became the most searched-after cricket player, Cristiano Ronaldo, the legendary football player from Portugal, was the most searched-after athlete, ahead of Lionel Messi of Argentina. In the “most searched sport” list, football naturally came in first.
Despite being 35 years old, Kohli is without a doubt one of the Indian team’s fittest players. Indeed, he is acknowledged by a number of Indian cricketers, both past and present, for improving the team’s fitness culture.
“That atmosphere was created by Virat Kohli bhai” : Strength and Conditioning coach
The Yo-Yo exam is one that Kohli consistently aced. Strength and conditioning instructor Ankit Katiyar recently disclosed to Times of India during an interview, praising his level of fitness and endurance.
He said, “Virat is a leading example when it comes to fitness. He has created a culture of fitness in the team. When your top player is so fit, then you become an example for others. He injects confidence in others. When he was the captain, he ensured everyone remained fit. Fitness was his top parameter in the team.”
The Team India strength and conditioning coach said, “He has created that culture and discipline in the team. That atmosphere was created by Virat bhai and it’s a commendable thing. He is the reason why all the Indian players are so fit.”
