‘Tune to rula diya’ – Cameron Green scores his maiden century in Ahmedabad Test in Border-Gavaskar Trophy

Cameron Green, Australia’s rising all-rounder, has been hailed as one of the team’s future greats. He’s been around the Australian team for a while now, and while he’s put in some good performances, he’s never broken the three-digit barrier. However, that changed in the first innings of the 4th Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
The visitors have been dominating the match with the bat, having already registered the highest score of the series. Usman Khawaja has been at the helm for the Australians as he completed his maiden hundred against India. He was given the perfect support by Green, who played a terrific innings to reach the milestone.
The all-rounder joined Khawaja in the final session on Day 1 and took the match by storm. He remained unbeaten on 49 runs on Day 1 as he stitched an unbeaten 85-run stand with the opening batter. The two continued their dominance on Day 2 as they kept attacking g the spinners.
Green kept the boundaries in check and completed his first century in the post Lunch session. He was, however, dismissed shortly after his century. Ravichandran Ashwin, after toiling hard for a long time, finally got the breakthrough wicket.
The off-spinner’s tossed-up delivery down the leg side was very slow through the air. Green attempted a sweep, but it brushed against his gloves, allowing the keeper to complete the brilliant catch behind the wickets. KS Bharat took a sharp catch, and Green walked back after scoring 114 runs. He scored 17 boundaries in his 170-ball stay in the middle.
After Green’s wicket, Australia also lost Alex Carey in the same over to Ashwin, giving India their second wicket of the day. At the time of writing this article, Australia has scored 384/6 with Khawaja (164 runs in 391 balls) and Mitchell Starc (4 runs in 8 balls) in the middle. In the meantime, fans on Twitter were elated to see Green’s century.

Fluke century. Pitch is placid, nothing happening for the bowlers
If this was a rank turner, who knows how much he would have scored, my guess was he wouldn’t have scored a century if this was a rank turner
FLUKE century
