The second edition of the Road Safety World Series is all set to begin on 10th September 2022. The tournament, which enthralled the audience in the first season by making several legendary cricketers returning back to the field, is expected to be even grander in the second season. An addition of a new team, New Zealand Legends, has been made to grab more eyeballs in the upcoming edition.
The lineup of the eight teams has many prominent names from world cricket. Among these names, there will be many bowlers who are expected to pick the most wickets in the upcoming tournament. Let’s take a look at the top three bowlers who can pick the most wickets in the second edition of the Road Safety World Series.
Brett Lee
Brett Lee burst onto the scene in 1999 as a fearsome fast bowler. The seamer had the raw pace that had the potential to unsettle several top batters of the world. The star player will be once again seen running in at full speed in the second edition of the tournament. In his playing days, Lee had the capability to clock 140+ regularly even at the ending stages of his career.
In 25 matches in T20I, Lee picked up 28 wickets at an average of 25 and an economy of 7.86.
Shane Bond
Shane Bond is another bowler who was known for sheer pace in the 2000s decade. He made his debut for New Zealand in 2001 and took the cricketing world by storm with his impeccable control of line and length. The speedster will be returning in action plying his trade for the New Zealand legends team.
Even after several years of retirement Bond will be raring to go once again to instil fear in the mind of the batters. After the end of the tournament, Bond’s name is expected to pop up in the list of leading wicket-takers. In 20 matches in T20Is, Bond has picked up 25 wickets at an average of 21 and an economy of 7.
Harbhajan Singh
Harbhajan Singh made his debut for India way back in 1998. But his first memorable performance came three years later in the historic 2001 Border Gavaskar Trophy. He became the first Indian to pick a Test hat trick in that series, and also finished as the highest wicket-taker of the series.
Over the years, Harbhajan emerged as an integral part of the Indian team across formats. He further bowled several memorable spells for the Mumbai franchise in the Indian T20 League. Harbhajan will be playing the tournament for the first time and will surely look to leave his mark by finishing as the highest wicket-taker.
