The crowd at the Eden Gardens are crazy about cricket. They shower their love on their favourite players in their good times. But can also turn out to be quite antagonistic when they perform at their worst. The best example of this is the 1996 WC Semi-final between India and Sri Lanka. The crowd unleashed their wrath on the Indian team who had a dramatic collapse in the important knockout game. People began throwing bottles into the field and there was widespread arson in the stadium as well.
