Kenneth Hervey MacLeay’s outstanding spell of bowling against India in the 1983 Prudential World Cup is one of the best bowling performances in an India vs Australia series. He picked up six wickets for just 39 runs, which helped Australia to restrict India to 158 runs.
MacLeay’s spell included the wickets of Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Sandeep Patil, Roger Binny, Kirti Azad, and Syed Kirmani. Australia went on to win the match by eight wickets, and MacLeay was awarded the Player of the Match for his superb bowling performance.
