Hitting the sixes in Test cricket is something very rare to see but there are some explosive batters in the cricketing world. The cricketing fraternity is currently witnessing some sensational stuff of the batting in the Bazball era (though it does not seem to be working for England who started this approach).
With said that, here we’ll have a look at the top 5 batters with the highest number of sixes in a single Test series. The list also includes the names of some blistering Indian batters.
5. Wasim Raza (Pakistan) – 14 sixes against West Indies, 1976-77
Pakistan Cricket Team under the captaincy of Mushtaq Mohammad was on a tour of the West Indies in the 1976-77 session. It was a five-match Test series which was eventually won by the hosts West Indies. However, there was one big positive for Pakistan to take away from this series despite a series defeat.
This positive was none other than the star batter Wasim Raza who scored 423 runs in 8 innings of the 5 matches he played. He also smashed 14 sixes, the highest number of sixes in a Test series by a batter in that era.

One of the memorable series for England in their Bazball era under the captaincy of the star all-rounder Ben Stokes. The series ended in a draw with a scoreline of 2-2. One of the major highlights from this series was the sensational batting approach from the hosts’ skipper Ben Stokes.

Star West Indies batter Shimron Hetmyer was in brilliant form in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh in Bangladesh in 2018-19. He scored 22 runs in four innings of the 2 matches with an average of 55.50, including 2 half-centuries.
The Southpaw also managed to hit 15 sixes in the series to equal the England skipper Ben Stokes in the list of batters with the highest number of sixes in a Test series.
2. Rohit Sharma (India) – 19 Sixes against South Africa, 2019-20

The current Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was enjoying a golden run of form with the bat in the three-match home Test series against South Africa in 2019-20. He aggregated 529 runs in just 4 innings of the matches he played with an outstanding average of 132.25, hitting 3 sensational centuries.
India’s hitman who is famous for sixes also smashed 19 sixes in this series against the Proteas; he surpassed all the previous records of hitting the most sixes in a Test series. However, now he still ranks second in the list of the batters with this feat.
1. Yashasvi Jaiswal (India) – 22 Sixes against England, 2024
Here we’re talking about the ongoing five-match Test series between India and England; and the unbelievable and sensational batting form of the young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. The 22-year-old is enjoying an unprecedented run of form with the bat and has scored 545 runs in the 6 innings of the 3 matches he played so far in the series.
Averaging 109.00, the star Southpaw has also smashed 22 sixes in the series and two matches are remaining; he has now become the number one player in the history of cricket to hit the highest number of sixes in a Test series.
