'They should ask PCB to focus on their issues' - Danish Kaneria's message to Indian cricket board

Indian cricket board and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have been at loggerheads over the Asia Cup 2023, given that the tournament would be hosted by the latter. The Indian team management and the board have made clear their stand of not travelling to their neighbourhood country on the back of a strained relationship between the two countries.

The former chief of PCB Ramiz Raja left no stone unturned in blackmailing the Indian cricket board into boycotting the upcoming 50-over World Cup to be played in India in 2023 if their rivals fail to make it to the continental tournament. However, with Najam Sethi taking over as the new boss, things have settled down and the PCB is looking to come to a mutual conclusion rather than taking on India.

Danish Kaneria, the former Pakistani cricketer, opened up on the same and said that the Indian cricket board must hit back at the PCB by telling them to look into their own issues. Further, Kaneria did not shy away from standing with India claiming that the claims from PCB made earlier were all unwanted.

There is no point in meeting if PCB refuses to agree to those terms: Danish Kaneria

The former Pakistani cricketer claimed that it would be unnecessary to meet if Pakistan’s board does not agree to the terms. Kaneria said that the Indian cricket board must come forward to give it back to PCB saying that they have to look into their issues first.

“The PCB officials have said that they will take a call regarding the Asia Cup. But I feel that the Indian cricket board should ask PCB to focus on fixing their own issues first. Only after that should India agree to talk to the Pakistani board. There is no point in meeting them if the PCB refuses to agree to those terms. The Indian cricket board should just tell them, ‘If you don’t want to come, then don’t come,” Kaneria was quoted as saying on his YouTube channel.
