Cricket West Indies and Caribbean Premier League have come up with a unique league that aims to transform the game of cricket. Called the 6ixty, this tournament wants to bring in young and casual fans to cricket.

The tournament is shaped in such a way that batters have a lot of advantages on the field. Rules like a mystery-free hit, only two fielders allowed outside the 30-yard circle and many others mean that bowlers are going to have a tough time in the 6ixty.

Bowlers however have been subjected to adversity in all of cricket’s history and yet they still continue to make their mark in the game. Let’s look at three bowlers from 6ixty who can steal the show despite it being a batting-friendly tournament.

Akeal Hosein

Having made his debut late in the national side, the 29-year-old left-arm orthodox bowler could be one of the best bowlers in the 6ixty. Known to be economical and direct Hosein could use his lack of pace and directness to dominate batters in the short format.

He has so far taken 20 wickets in 26 T20Is and 39 in 26 ODIs for West Indies.

Chris Green

The Australian bowling all-rounder has been immense in domestic T20 Leagues. In 151 matches the right arm off breaker has taken 122 wickets with an economy of 7.12.

The tall bowler has the ability to generate bounce even on slow deliveries which could be very helpful in getting batters caught out. Green could turn out to be one of the best bowlers in the batting-friendly 6ixty tournament.

Jason Holder

The former West Indies all-rounder is among the very best 20-20 cricketers when at his best. Frequent injuries have somewhat shaken Jason Holder’s career but he still remains one of the smartest cricketers around.

His variation in pace could be one of the sharpest weapons in the league. Holder has taken 36 wickets in 40 T20I matches along with 47 in 38 Indian T20 League matches.

The 6ixty is going to kick off on August 23rd and will feature six teams in total.
