'Thank you David bhai' - David Warner wins hearts after wishing 'RRR' movie crew for winning award at Golden Globes 2023

David Warner, the Australian batter, is known for his connection with Indian fans and more to people from the south in specific, as he played for the Hyderabad franchise for a long time, before making a move to Delhi in the Indian T20 League. Recently, Netflix India claimed that the southpaw must act in Tollywood if he retires rather than doing commentary.

Warner said that he would be partially doing commentary before retiring and in reply, Netflix India came up with the cheeky request. Notably, Warner has been close to people from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, India and has been creating reels on Instagram, based on Telugu films, eventually getting invites from fans to act in Telugu films.

On January 11, Wednesday, the notable song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the Tollywood movie ‘RRR’ won the ‘Best Original Song’ award in the Golden Globes 2023 awards. Warner, who took cognizance of the same, took to Twitter to congratulate the movie crew and the Indian fans for achieving the feat.

Here is David Warner’s tweet:

Can David Warner continue his stupendous run?

For the unversed, Warner was adjourned as the Player of the Series for the recently concluded three-match Test series against South Africa and said that he wanted to make a strong comeback for the team in the longest format of the game.

“I spoke about that in Melbourne (his double century). Salute to the team, everyone performed well and did their part. Credit to the bowlers as well. (On Anrich Nortje’s pace) Credit to Anrich, definitely the last time I have to face him, that’s great. It was tough down there but our boys gave me all the support,” Warner was quoted as saying after bagging the award.

“We tried our best but the South Africans held on with their tail end, they have always been difficult to knock over and we didn’t get there but we’ll take the draw anyway. Massive away tour now with WTC on the line. If results go our way and we win a couple of games, that’ll put us in good stead to get to the final,” he added.
