In ‘Dulhania 3’ aka ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari‘, Varun Dhawan and Shashank Khaitan will collaborate once more following the success of ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ (2014) and ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ (2017). Supported by Dharma Productions, the production company of Karan Johar, the movie will star Janhvi Kapoor as Tulsi Kumari instead of Alia Bhatt, who was in both of the previous Dulhania franchise films. The character of Sunny Sanskari will be played by Varun.
‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari”s main cast, directors, and Karan Johar posted the official announcement video on Instagram on Thursday. ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari‘, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, is produced by Dharma Productions and is scheduled to open in theatres on April 18, 2025. Karan Johar appeared to respond to a report earlier this year claiming that Janhvi Kapoor would be replacing Alia Bhatt, who starred in both Dulhania films, in ‘Dulhania 3‘. He requested that the media “not speculate about” the upcoming movie.

Karan posted on Instagram Stories, “Every morning I wake up to the news that is not an official confirmation by Dharma Productions. would kindly ask media professionals to refrain from speculating about the start or continuation of a franchise! Karan appeared to be responding to a report published on PeepingMoon.com stating that Janhvi Kapoor would be playing a new Dulhania (bride) opposite Varun Dhawan, who also starred in the first two Dulhania films, and that Alia would not be appearing in ‘Dulhania 3’. According to the portal, ‘Dulhania 3’ is also being directed by Shashank Khaitan, with the statement that the movie ‘will have a different plot and characters and is in no way connected to the previous parts’.
