The film, which is Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti’s second release of the year after ‘The Archies,’ was directed by Arjun Varain Singh, who previously worked as Gully Boy’s assistant director. The screenplay was written by the latter two.
‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan‘ leaves you feeling neither preachy nor aftertaste. The attempt to depict the real life behind social media filters is sincere. How it can actually make you feel angry, hateful, frustrated, and deceitfully “connected.” It just makes you feel more distant from everything and everyone that matters in an effort to gain a few likes and comments (validation) from nameless, anonymous people. ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan‘ doesn’t ask you to give up social media, but it does force you to take a moment to reflect on your usage habits and decide when to draw the line.
