‘Started from the bottom now he is there’ – Fans react to reports of Suryakumar Yadav to be India’s stand-in skipper for Ireland series

Hardik Pandya’s workload is the main question ahead of the trip to Ireland next month.

As Hardik Pandya is expected to be rested for the entire three-match series versus Ireland, India may have a new T20I skipper. The ICC World Cup 2023 is something the selectors want to bear in mind as they manage their workload. Shubman Gill may also be spared for the forthcoming games, according to PTI. Both athletes have been given the go-ahead to start the World Cup.

India will compete in five T20 internationals versus the Windies in order to get ready for the T20 World Cup in 2019. The United States of America’s city of Florida will host the final two one-day internationals. As vice-captain, Suryakumar Yadav will take the helm whenever Hardik needs a break.

More rest than work for Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya

India may visit Ireland with a team full of young players, according to media sources. On the other side, Hardik Pandya can rest for this trip as a result of his management due to his workload in light of the World Cup as well as the Asia Cup.

Everything said, nothing has been finalized yet, and Hardik’s fitness following the ODI and T20 matches versus the West Indies will also be a factor. Hardik is scheduled to play eight games over the course of 18 days during the limited-overs schedule on his West Indies tour.

Hardik is a crucial component within the Indian ODI squad since he provides the group with much-needed balance. The selection committee and team management do not want to gamble with him. In such a scenario, Suryakumar Yadav might be given the opportunity to lead the T20 team in place of Hardik Pandya.

Additionally, Suryakumar Yadav will serve as Team India’s vice-captain during the T20 series versus the Windies. This year, Suryakumar Yadav also had the opportunity to captain in IPL, and he excelled during his brief stint leading MI.

For the tour of Ireland, head coach Rahul Dravid, batting coach Vikram Rathore, and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey may all be rested. In this case, VVS Laxman, the director of the National Cricket Academy (NCA), will lead the Indian team on its trip to Ireland.
