The SLC Skyexch T20 League has so far seen six exciting games take place among the four teams. The 13th of August brought the fifth and sixth games to the spectators. Let’s look at the match report for the same.
Match 5: SLC Greys vs SLC Greens:
After winning the toss, the Dasun Shanaka-led SLC Green team decided to field first and asked SLC Grey to open the innings. Coming on to bat first, the Greys team got off to a good start, making 119 runs before the first wicket fell. Openers Thanuka Dabare (66) and Kasun Vidura (36) added important runs to the scoreboard from the word get-go. The rest of the batters apart from Minod Bhanuka (20) could not make significant contributions, but these three were enough to take their side to 166/7.
Lakshan Sandakan and Dasun Shanaka took two wickets each. The former, with an economy of 3.5, was instrumental in keeping the Greys team to an achievable score.
Coming onto chase, what was a decent total, the SLC Greens team also started well with both openers, Pathum NIssanka (15) and Niroshan Dickwella (27) coming off with decent runs. None, however, could repeat Grey’s batters’ performance. Dinesh Chandimal, with a 24 off of 18, tried but could not take his team anymore closer. This was when SLC Greens saw a collapse and faltered at just 85/10.
Punila Tharanga and Muditha Lakshan took three wickets each, while Ashan Prinajan came up with two of his own to dominate the Green’s batting lineup.
In the end, SLC Greys won the match by a massive 81 runs. Thanuka Dabare was adjudged Player of the match.

Match 6: SLC Blues vs SLC Red
The second match of August 13th saw the Blues and Reds go head to head at the top of the table. After electing to bat first, the SLC Reds team posted a humongous total of 178/4 in 20 overs. Captain Kusal Mendis led from the front with a sensational 86 off of 60 deliveries. Wanindu Hasaranga also came up with an instrumental 69 off of 41 deliveries.
The huge total proved too much for the SLC Blues team as they could only produce 145/6 and lost the match by 33 runs. Sadeera Samarawickrama was Blues top scorer with a 40. Lahiru Udara also made 35 but none of the others could come up with a big score. Asitha Fernando and Wanindu Hasaranga took to wickets each. Hasaranga was adjudged Player of the match.
