It’s said that anything can happen in sport and Geisson Perea further proved the statement to be correct during Santa Fe’s defeat to Jaguares last night. Perea decided to choose some bizarre tactics to distract the opposition during a ‘free-kick’. The Colombian footballer flashed out his penis in an effort to put off his opponent from kicking a goal. The bizarre moment was caught on camera and the shocking incident was seen by millions of fans all across the world.
The incident occurred in just the fourth minute of the match with the score still goalless. After Jaguares had been awarded a free-kick, Perea formed a defensive wall with his teammate, former Aston Villa, West Ham and Watford midfielder Carlos Sanchez. He then quickly pulled down his shorts to try and distract the opposition.
Astonishingly, the unconventional move seemed to have worked as the Jaguares player ended up missing the goal. But it’s unclear if it was due to Perea flashing his manhood out in the open.
According to the Daily Star, cameras accidentally caught the moment as they zoomed in on the wall so that fans could catch a better glimpse of the kick. As a result, Perea gave not only the opposition but also broadcast cameras a sight of his private parts.
Santa Fe lost 2-1 to Jaguares
Remarkably, it appears the officials completely missed Perea’s antics, with the defender somehow managing to escape without a booking. Unfortunately for Perea, he was unable to prevent his team from losing the match.
Jaguares scored in the 94th minute to win the match 2-1 after Santa Fe had been reduced the 10 men following a red card for Juan Camilo Aristazabal Gomez. Neither Perea, his club nor the Colombian FA has commented on the free-kick incident and it remains to be seen whether the defender will be punished going forward.
Santa Fe currently are on the eighth position in the Colombian first division with eight wins, four draws and six defeats in 18 fixtures. Perea has made 19 appearances in all competitions this season but his antics in the defeat to Jaguares may end in a suspension or worse for the defender.
