The Delhi court granted divorce to Shikhar Dhawan after finding that his former wife Ayesha Mukerji had mistreated him and caused him mental anguish. When granting Shikhar Dhawan’s divorce, the Family Court in Delhi’s Patiala House complex observed that the batter had suffered mental anguish since his wife had made him live apart from his sole kid for years.

All of the accusations made by Dhawan towards his wife during the divorce suit were approved by Judge Harish Kumar. The court’s ruling said that either Dhawan’s wife did not dispute the aforementioned accusations or did not adequately defend herself.

Dhawan claimed that his spouse had subjected him to emotional torture in his divorce suit. In October 2012, Shikhar Dhawan wed Ayesha Mukherjee, who had two kids from her prior union. Notably, Ayesha had mentioned obtaining a divorce in a social media statement for the year 2021.

Shikhar Dhawan also discussed the subject in an interview with India Today earlier this year, lamenting his inability to recognise the warning signs in his relationship. The left-handed batter gave an explanation about his divorce scenario. He said, “Right now my divorce case is going on. Tomorrow, if I want to marry again, I will be much wiser in that field. I’ll know what kind of girl I need; someone whom I can spend my life with.”

Shikhar Dhawan set to meet his son Zoravar soon

The court, however, declined to make any decisions about Dhawan and his ex-wife’s son’s long-term custody. In addition, the court allowed Dhawan to communicate with his kid via video chats and visit him for a certain amount of time in both India and Australia, where Ayesha Mukerji resides.

The youngster must travel to India for visitation, including overnight stays with Dhawan and his family. This will happen for at least half of the academic year’s school breaks. It was according to a court order issued to Dhawan’s wife Ayesha.

Shikhar Dhawan, the petitioner, is a well-known international cricketer, according to the court. As a responsible father and citizen, he also has rights. The right of the kid to stay with his father as well as family is also taken into consideration.
