Shahid Kapoor confesses comparison with Shah Rukh Khan was the ‘worst’

Shahid Kapoor

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor made his debut in the Hindi film industry with the blockbuster rom-com movie Ishq Vishq. He was the epitome of a ‘chocolate boy’ in his earlier days. Fans loved the actor for his innocent and naive look. However, his sweet boy romantic charisma was often compared to the romance superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The actor revealed that his comparison with the Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan was not so ‘great’ for him.

The actor confessed it was the dumbest logic in the showbiz industry that if you want to be successful then you have to be like someone successful. Talking to a leading media portal, Shahid acknowledged the fact of being compared with Shah Rukh Khan in his initial days. He confesses how he felt about it by saying, “It’s the worst possible scenario. Why should you be anything’s next? They are they, just as you are you. The worst aspect of your profession is that you have to emulate someone who has already achieved success. Because of that, if you follow their example, you will succeed in the future. This is the most ridiculous logic I have ever encountered.”

Shahid Kapoor gets candid:

The actor further added, “It’s like an ice cream maker. If someone receives vanilla ice cream because they enjoy vanilla, they will only continue to do so. No. You must have a different ice cream taste. People may like something different, but you still need to win their favour. And one day, you ought to be so excellent that others would simply want to consume you. Why do you need their light? Each person can be their own sun. “

Moving on, Shahid confessed that for the past few years, he has been focusing on being true to himself. He reveals how a young actor feels the pressure when you are being compared to some superstar and to live up to the comparison. The actor reveals that this thing impacts one person deeply and moulds them in that comparison subsequently. Instead of finding one’s true self Shahid believes that they start losing themselves living up to the expectations.
