Shaheen Afridi is one of the most dangerous bowlers when he is fit: Shaun Tait

Shaheen Afridi has been one of the best bowlers in the world of late. His consistent performances in the recent past have significantly improved his reputation in the cricketing world. Thus, Pakistan’s new bowling coach Shaun Tait heaped praise on him.

It is to be noted that the Aussie was hired for Pakistan’s ongoing series against Australia as a bowling coach for the green team. However, as his father expired, he couldn’t join the team from the start of the series. He spoke about how he received a warm welcome despite joining the team late.

Tait went on to praise the dressing room atmosphere as well. He expressed his excitement over working with the Pakistan quicks. Tait stated that he will try to prepare them physically and mentally for the series. “I joined the squad late for the Australian series but due to the wonderful dressing room environment, I faced no difficulty. I received a warm welcome. Pakistan is full of fast bowling talent. I am excited to work with the talented young pacers in Pakistan. I will try to prepare them physically and mentally to perform better under pressure.

It is a proud moment to get a chance to work with the Pakistani bowlers. Karachi Test did not favour the fast bowlers from both teams. Such situations occur rarely in Test Cricket,” said Shaun Tait, as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.

The 39-year-old also said that he was looking forward to working with Shaheen Afridi. He even called the Pakistan pacer “one of the most dangerous bowlers”. Further on, Tait also expressed his desire to see Pakistan’s pacers have the same aggression as he did during his days.

“Shaheen Shah Afridi is one of the most dangerous bowlers when he is fit and in action with all his skills. I will try to prepare him physically and mentally for future challenges. I have played aggressive cricket in my career. I want to see the same passion and aggression in the Pakistani bowlers,” he added.
