Talks about the lead cast for the upcoming Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie Baiju Bawra have been doing rounds for a long time now. The filmmakers were looking into options from Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh or Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor. As per the earlier reports, the speculations were that the real-life ex-couple Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone will finally come together on-screen for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra. However, nothing was official about those reports. Now, it seems the makers have decided to lock in Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh the respective real-life spouses of the latter.
Alia Bhatt was recently seen with the power pack and energetic performer Ranveer Singh in their latest film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The film was helmed by the ace filmmaker Karan Johar who made his comeback to the director’s chair after a decade for the film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Let us tell you, if this report is proven to be true then Baiju Bawra will mark Alia reuniting with her National Award Winner role Gangubai’s filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Moreover, she will also be reuniting with Ranveer Singh after her recently released movie Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

For a long time now, the film Baiju Bawra has been on the papers and the ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is trying to get it on the big screens. As per the reports, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been working on this film for several years now and it is one of his biggest ambitious projects. However, the director has been struggling with the right casting for the film between these four options. Now, as per the self-proclaimed critic Kamaal R Khan, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt have been finalised as the cast of Baiju Bawra. Moreover, he adds that another actress will be added to the cast who will join later.
If Kamaal R Khan’s claim on Baiju Bawra is anything to go by, then the duo Ranveer and Alia will start shooting for the film in March next year. While Alia has worked only one time with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Gangubai Kathiawadi for which she even won a National Award, Ranveer Singh has worked with the filmmaker in three biggest blockbuster hits Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani, and Padmavat.
