Rajasthan Royals batter Riyan Parag has responded to the trolling from ex-cricketers and experts. Last year, Simon Doull called him a ‘dancer’ in the team and a liability. In the IPL 2023 season, an expert on a leading YouTube channel said that the Royals’ squad consisted of five batters and bowlers and Parag. Almost two months after this, the franchise has done a video with him.

“People pay their hard-earned money to watch us perform, not play. So us not performing and them hating, I totally understand. But I think verified accounts, ex-cricketers, commentators, when they are posting about this on social media and they are taking out their time to tweet about me, you can just text me. I would honestly love that. Because if anyone can DM me and say ‘Hey, I know this is how you play cricket but if you do this, you might have a better chance of performing.

I was looking forward to playing against MI and RCB: Riyan Parag

The 20189 U19 World Cup winner was dropped ahead of one of the two games against RCB and one against MI. In the video, Parag said that he was prepared well and was looking forward to doing well.

“There were two games that I was really looking forward to this year. One was Mumbai (Mumbai Indians) and one was RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore) and I didn’t play both. Everything was sorted, I was fully ready, I was preparing very hard before the game. Very Very disappointed to not go to Bangalore because that’s the team I love playing against. Virat, I look up to him so much, and sharing the field with him obviously big for me and you know beating them and it’s just the joy for me.

“But then, when you go back to the hotel you gotta look yourself in the mirror and say, you have been left out,” Parag said in a video released by the 2008 IPL winners.
