The Indian team’s next major international tournament is the 2024 T20 World Cup. During the last major tournament India came second to Australia during the ODI Cricket World Cup 2023. This will present the Indian cricket team with an additional chance to break their title drought.

India has not won a major world trophy since the Indian cricket team, captained by MS Dhoni, clinched the Champions Trophy in 2013. The schedule for the 2024 T20 World Cup was revealed on Friday. The USA and Canada match will kick off the competition on June 1.

On June 5, India will play their opening game against Ireland, and on June 9, they will play their bitter rivals, Pakistan. The official broadcaster of the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup, Star Sports, have released a trailer for the match that features Shaheen Afridi, the captain of Pakistan T20I, and Hardik Pandya.

There is no formal confirmation that Hardik Pandya would captain India at the 2024 T20 World Cup. Despite the fact he has led his country in several Twenty20 International Series following the 2022 T20 World Cup. According to certain rumours, Rohit Sharma may take the helm in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
