After Monday’s draw during the second Test in their series versus the West Indies, Team India skipper Rohit Sharma produced a playful social media post. The Windies had to rack up 289 runs, while India required eight wickets to win the Test in Trinidad’s Port of Spain. However, because of the constant rain on the final day, no play was possible. As a result, the visitors won the two-game series 1-0.
On Tuesday, Rohit posted a photo with a few of his teammates on his social media accounts following the second Test. What attracted the people’s attention was the post’s caption, which read, ‘Mumbai ya Trinidad’.
A contemplating face and a cloud containing rain emoji were also added in the caption. The ironic message Rohit wrote made emphasis on the fact that Mumbai, the city where the Indian skipper is from, and Trinidad had both been experiencing heavy rain.
You need guys who stabilise the innings like what Virat did: Rohit Sharma
At the post-match presentation in Trinidad following the draw, Rohit lauded Kohli for his valiant century. The 36-year-old made a comment regarding the significance of the top batter in the Test team. He said, “In Test matches, you need guys who stabilise the innings like what Virat did, he played superbly. You need the mixture of everything. We have depth, we have got variety. We are in the right place. It’s about getting the job done.”
The Mumbai Indians skipper then spoke about what his thoughts are as a captain and their belief in getting better as a team. He said, “I always believe in getting better as a team. I said after the WTC final as well. We’ve played consistent cricket. That’s what we are looking at. We want to focus on all three aspects of the game.”
India would now be facing off against South Africa in their next test assignment but it would only take place in December since most of the nations would be getting prepared for the ODI World Cup which will be held in India in October and November.

You tried, Ro! Rain isn't in anyone's hands. We gave our best. 1-0 it is. Now onto the ODIs. I want you to play the first 10 overs and then change gears. Going hard earlier risks getting out too. So be a little selfish and get runs under your belt. Rooting for you, skippah! ?
