Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting might step down from the job ahead of the IPL 2024. The team had a poor season in the 2023 edition, becoming the first team to get eliminated from the playoffs. The 2020 finalists started the tournament with five losses. After this, they managed to string together a few wins but eventually, they crashed out of the playoffs race.
Meanwhile, with the 16th season being over last month, the former Australia skipper might step down. Sourav Ganguly, who has been the director of cricket over the years, might take over the job. Talking about Ricky’s tenure, the team reached the playoffs in 2019 and 2021, and the finals in 2020. In the last couple of seasons, the team failed to reach the playoffs.
As reported by Sangbad Pratidin, the two-time World Cup-winning skipper has made up his mind to step down from the job. On the other hand, the franchise has neither denied nor confirmed the development.
