Ranbir Kapoor gets summoned by ED for involvement in Mahadev Betting App Case

While Bollywood’s heartthrob was getting ready for his upcoming film ‘Animal‘ release, he got tangled in a big controversy. The actor has now been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for his connection with the Mahadev Betting App case. Yes, you have read that right! Ranbir Kapoor has made it to the headlines yet again, but this time it is not because of his upcoming film release or love affairs. The actor has been linked with the bigwig controversy of the Mahadev Betting App case.

On Wednesday, the Enforcement Directorate issued a summon order for the Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor. The summoning order was related to the Mahadev Betting App case. As per the reports, the Bollywood star allegedly carried out promotional activities for the betting app. Now, amidst his upcoming Pan Indian film ‘Animal’ promotions, Ranbir has to appear before the ED’s office in Raipur on 6th October 2023.

Ranbir Kapoor lands in trouble:

Currently, the officials of ED are trying to determine the timeline of when the actor began the promotional activity for the app. They are also figuring out the amount of fees he charged the app and the payment method of the same. Moreover, the officials are also keen to find out the individuals he came in contact with while finalising this deal and his promotional activities. They will also check if there were any contracts signed between Ranbir and the betting app.

Not only Ranbir, but there are several other film and sports personalities who promoted the app. As per the speculations, a summon order would soon be sent to these celebrities too. The names include some of the A-listers from the industry. The Mahadev Betting App is an online syndicate that umbrellas several other betting apps. This platform allows illegal online betting and laundering of money through a layered web of Benami banks. These apps have been operated in the UAE. As per the E.D., a large-scale of Hawala has been running to spin off the betting money to off-shore accounts.

The reports further suggest that this has been going on since the year 2017. However, the app garnered a large audience during the pandemic in 2020. The investigation behind this Mahadev Betting App case is in full swing currently.
