Virat Kohli once again couldn’t score big in the ongoing Indian T20 League 2022. On May 13, Kohli got out after scoring a 14-ball 20 against Punjab. He was going great guns with two fours and a six before his innings ended in a rather unfortunate fashion. His strike rate during his short stay at the crease was 142.85. In the fourth over of the innings, Kagiso Rabada bowled a misdirected short ball.

The right-hander would have dispatched it for a boundary nine out of 10 times. However, given his poor run of form and luck, the ball just kissed his gloves, hit his thigh, and then went straight to the short fine leg fielder, Rahul Chahar. However, the on-field umpires had ruled him not out. Punjab skipper Mayank Agarwal went for a review which showed that the ball had hit the gloves.

Thus, the decision was overturned and the former Bangalore skipper couldn’t believe his luck. He walked towards the dugout after having a brief look at the heavens in disbelief. After the dismissal, the Mohali-based team’s social media handle posted a picture of him on Instagram. The post captioned “Virat Kohli, even we enjoyed while it lasted. Hope luck turns on your side soon”.

Talking about the game, the three-time finalists lost the game by 54 runs. Batting first, the 2014-finalists scored 209/9. In reply, the Faf du Plessis-led side were in a good position as they were 104/3 at one stage. However, Bangalore’s batting collapsed and thus, they were restricted to 155/9.
