Prithvi Shaw shares picture of his holiday in Maldives with fans

Indian opener, Prithvi Shaw is enjoying his time off the game in the Maldives. The batter gave a sneak peek of his holiday to his fans on his social media as he uploaded a short video on his Instagram story on Saturday.

In the video, the 22-year-old can be seen chilling by the ocean. Shaw captained the Mumbai Team during the Ranji Trophy 2022 earlier this year. The opener led his team to the final of the season but Mumbai ended up as the runner-up of the tournament as they got thrashed by Madhya Pradesh by 6 wickets.

The star batter scored 355 runs from six matches during the season with an average of 35.50. Shaw scored three half-centuries throughout the season but couldn’t manage to convert them into big scores. He also played some incredible knocks in the Indian T20 league this year for the Delhi franchise. The 22-year-old scored 280 runs in 10 matches. Shaw missed some matches during the tournament as he was diagnosed with typhoid.

The stylish opener last played an international match when he played a T20I against Sri Lanka last year on July 25. His last appearance in Tests came when he opened against Australia in the first match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21.

Shaw is touted as the next big thing in Indian cricket from a young age as the batter plundered runs right from the junior level. He’s been in headlines from his teenage years and was often compared with legendary Sachin Tendulkar.

The talented batter made his international debut when he played in a Test match against West Indies in 2018 and slammed a hundred in his very first game. Over time, the batter has fallen behind many young cricketers who’ve stormed their way into the Indian team with their consistent performances.

He lost his opening slot to his U19 teammate Shubhman Gill who impressed everyone with his heroics in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21. Being just 22 years old, the star batter has age on his side and will be eager to earn his place back in the Indian team with his performances.
