Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo set to miss ‘Last Dance’ against Lionel Messi
Inter Miami have been on a poor run of form off late and would look to change that starting from this match!
On Thursday, February 1, Al-Nassr will play a friendly match against Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami. But Cristiano Ronaldo is not going to play. Due to a calf injury, the top player from Portugal is still sidelined for the eagerly awaited match.
It was just revealed by Al-Nassr coach Luis Castro that Ronaldo won’t be participating in Thursday’s match. The Daily Mail cited the head coach as stating, “Ronaldo is in the final part of his recovery to join the group. We hope that in the next few days you can start working with the team. He will be absent from the game.”
The Saudi Pro League is currently undergoing their winter break after Al-Nassr last competed against Al-Taawoun, winning 4-1. That occurred on December 30. During the break, the Knights of Najd should have travelled to China for a set of friendly games.
However, due to Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury, the tour was cancelled. When the Riyadh-based squad resumes competitive play in February, they will be hopeful that their main attacker is fully fit again.
Without Ronaldo, Al-Nassr will have to begin making preparations towards the second half of their 2023–24 campaign. They have two friendlies against Inter Miami as well as Al-Hilal before getting back into the AFC Champions League to play Al-Fahya during the Round of 16.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s amazing 2023-24 campaign so far!
In Saudi Arabia, Cristiano Ronaldo is having a fantastic first full season. In Al-Nassr’s title fight against Al-Hilal, the Portugal captain is essential. At the moment, Al-Nassr is seven points below the league leaders.
As it stands, Ronaldo has participated in 25 games in all competitions, tallying 24 goals and dishing out 11 assists. This comprises a total of 18 Saudi Pro League appearances, 20 goals, and 9 assists.
It is noteworthy to remark that Cristiano Ronaldo tops both the assists rankings and the goalscoring charts for Al-Nassr this season. In addition, he has scored three more goals than Aleksandar Mitrovic to take the lead in the league thus far this season.
