England pacer Ollie Robinson reacted to being slammed for giving an abusive send-off to Usman Khawaja in the ongoing first Ashes Test. The incident happened during Australia’s first innings as they were chasing England’s 393/8 declared. Khawaja was batting at 141 when the home team, England skipper Ben Stokes set an unusual field with some close-in fielders in front of the Aussie opening batter.
This led to him making room but yorking himself and losing his wicket. After this, Robinson, who celebrated the wicket, was accused of saying f*** off, you f***ing pr**k” directly at Khawaja. After picking the wicket of the Queenslander, Ollie cleaned the tail in no time, keeping Australia trailing by seven runs. After the day three play, the right-arm pacer was asked about his verbal send-off.
If you can’t handle it, what you can? – Ollie Robinson
The 29-year-old defended his actions on the field and said that he doesn’t care how he perceives. He added that this is his first home Ashes, having played the 2021-22 in Australia. Ollie also mentioned that in the heat of the moment, things can happen.
“I don’t really care how it’s perceived to be honest.
“It’s the Ashes, professional sport. If you can’t handle that, what can you handle?
… “It’s my first home Ashes and to get the big wicket at the time was special for me,” Robinson said. “I think Uzzie played unbelievably well. To get that wicket for us as a team at the time was massive. We all want that theatre of the game, don’t we? So I’m here to provide it.”
“I think when you’re in the heat of the moment and you have the passion of the Ashes, that can happen,” he said.
“We’ve all seen Ricky Ponting, other Aussies do the same to us. Just because the shoe is on the other foot, it’s not received well.”
This is how Twitter reacted
And rightly so, making an issue out of really nothing. As if Robinson took out a sandpaper and waved with it to Khawaja after getting him out.

Honestly who cares? This happens pretty much every time we play them. Let's focus on the game.

When dod Australian’s become so soft? This has been one of the most embarrassing reactions to anything that I’ve ever seen. He wasn’t even looking at Khawaja. All this coming from a nation who’s captain once threatened Anderson with a broken arm
