Nana Patekar says in a new video that he hit a boy as part of a scene, but the boy he smacked turned out to be a fan, not a crew member. Nana Patekar has shared his side of the story in a new video posted by ANI, a day after a video showed him slapping a fan for taking a selfie with him on set. He stated that smacking a boy was part of a scene in his next film, and he initially mistook the fan for one of the crew members who was supposed to be in the scene, but he later discovered that he was a real fan.
In the viral apology video, the veteran Bollywood actor Nana Patekar is saying, “A video of me hitting a boy is going viral. Despite the fact that this sequence is in our film, we only had one rehearsal…We were supposed to have another rehearsal. The director instructed me to begin. We were about to start when the boy from the video arrived. I didn’t know who he was; I assumed he was one of our crew members, so I slapped him and told him to leave. Later, I discovered that he was not a member of the crew. So I was about to call him back, but he got away. Perhaps his friend took the video. I’ve never turned down a photo shoot. This is not something I do… This happened by mistake… If there is some misunderstanding, please forgive me… I will never do anything like this…”

The actor is currently shooting in Baranasi for his upcoming film Journey. The film director Anil Sharma also issued a statement clearing the doubts of the netizens. Nana Patekar is playing a man with Dementia in his upcoming movie with Anil Sharma. The character’s mind is disturbed in the movie, and therefore, there is a scene of him smacking a young boy in the movie.
On the work front, Nana Patekar will be staying in Varanasi for the next two weeks. Apart from the veteran actor, the movie will also feature the Gadar 2 fame, Utkarsh Sharma.
