England are all set to tour Pakistan after 17 years for a seven-match T20I series and a three-match Test Series. The T20I series will serve as a precursor for the upcoming 20-20 World Cup in Australia. Both teams will look to finalize their team combinations in the series heading into the mega tournament.
Pakistan
Pakistan are coming into this series after their disappointing loss against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2022 final. They will look to put their loss behind them and move ahead with a positive mindset into the world cup. They found several star performers in the Asia Cup campaign like Mohammad Nawaz and Naseem Shah. Pakistan will want these players to have enough game time before the World Cup begins.
England
England lost their last series against South Africa by 2-1. After locking horns against Pakistan, they have another series against Australia before the 20-20 World Cup. England will badly miss their in-form batter Jonny Bairstow who will remain out of cricket for some time due to a freakish injury. After their semi-final loss against New Zealand in the last year’s World Cup, England have lost all three T20I series. They will look to find some momentum in their next two series heading into the World Cup.
