‘Once a CSK blood, always a CSK blood’ – Fans react as Kedar Jadhav gets pumped up as CSK lifts fifth IPL title

Former India and Chennai Super Kings player, Kedar Jadhav was pumped after his former IPL side won its fifth title. He was doing Marathi commentary for the digital broadcaster before he got a call-up from Royal Challengers Bangalore. Before playing for CSK in 2018 and 2019, the right-hander played for RCB. This year, the former India international was named David Willey’s replacement.

Meanwhile, the three-time finalists crashed out of the playoffs after losing to Gujarat Titans in the last league game. Now, Jadhav was back with the commentary job. He was one of those commentators who were named in the final’s roaster. The game started on May 29 evening but didn’t end before May 30 (around 1:30 AM IST). After all, after Gujarat Titans amassed 214/4, the game was interrupted by rain.

After a delay of almost two hours, the game resumed and the revised target was 171 runs in 15 overs. The eventual winner, CSK had 4/0 in 0.3 overs before the forced break. In the end, the MS Dhoni-led side won the game on the last ball of the game, thanks to Ravindra Jadeja’s heroics. Apart from this, the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway provided a great start but lost their way in the middle overs.

Now retired, Ambati Rayudu also played a cameo. Meanwhile, after the win, Jadhav, a former CSKian celebrated inside the commentary box.

Meanwhile, the Yellow Brigade has won their fifth IPL title, after beating 2022 winners, Gujarat Titans in the final. They first did it in 2010 defending the title in 2011. After this, their fans had to wait for seven years to see their favorite team lift the trophy, including the ban in 2016 and 17.

After 2018, they won it in 2021, and now. On the other hand, MI won their first in 2013, beating CSK in the final. Two years later, the Blue brigade did the same and won their third, fourth, and fifth in 2017, 2019, and 2020.
