‘Next time se, usi bike main..’ – Fans react to controversial depiction of Indian map by Moto GP

Moto GP finds itself in huge controversy before its Indian debut.

The Indian Motorcycle racing fans were all in readiness for the first-ever race to be held in India. Just before their Indian debut, Moto GP  landed themselves in a massive controversy. The official live streaming of the practice had shown the distorted version of the Indian Map.

This move caught a lot of attention and the fans rightly expressed their outrage. Many Indian netizens called out the Moto GP powers to be on various social media platforms. With the race scheduled for the weekend, the controversy was snowballing out of proportion.

In a bid to ensure the controversy comes to an end, Moto GP has released a statement. The move comes as a counter to the massive controversy created and to pacify the angry Indian citizens.

Moto GP faces fan backlash over as Indian Citizens seethe with rage –

World–renowned motorcycle racing event Moto GP is set to make its Indian debut. Right before the first race happens a huge controversy has taken place. During one of the practice sessions, the live Moto GP session showed a distorted version of the Indian map.

Jammu-Kashmir as well as Ladakh regions were omitted from the Indian map. This angered everyone who happened to watch the live stream of the practice session. Moto GP came out and issued a statement to the angry Indian fans in a bid to calm the situation with the race scheduled for the weekend.

The statement read “We’d like to apologize to our fans in India for the map shown earlier as part of the Moto GP broadcast. It is never our intent to make any statement other than that of support and appreciation for our host country”

Moto GP also released a supplementary statement that read “We’re excited to be able to enjoy the Indian Oil Grand Prix of India with you and we’re loving our first taste of Buddh International Circuit”.

Italian racer Francesco Bagnaia leads the points table with 283 points with 5 wins. Spanish racer and fellow Ducati driver Jorge Martin is in 2nd place with 247 points. India will be hosting its first motorcycle GP over the weekend.
